In the Last Year...
In the last year I have...
Gotten into the best shape since I played college basketball
Grown immensely professionally
Decided I need to move
Rediscovered the importance of family
Bought an awesome jeep that makes the weekends that much more fun
grow tighter with some of my closest friends
and met a women who appears to be the girl of my dreams...
not a bad year
To all of you who know me and are in the above statement thanks for making the last 12 months truly special

A quick checkin
I haven't posted in sometime I find myself both push and pulled away from the digital world. I did recently get an iphone after my blackberry failed on me and I admit I can see why so many are totally hooked on using them.
I am still bouncing back and forth between coasts, those of you that know why can also know things are going well and I am as happy as a clam.
This week I started a new training routine developed by a trainer at the gym as my old routine was getting boring. I do 45 reps of each exercise and my whole body hurts after day 1.
Todays workout was
Bench press 3*15 at 185 lbs
Perfect pushups 45 total reps
Reverse Pullups 45 total reps
Seated dumbbell row 3*15 at 45 lbs (per side)
7 x 7 x 7 3 sets of 21
Seated Military Press 4 sets until fail did not make 45 reps ;(
Triceps pulldown extensions 3x15 at 80
Step Up back lunges 3 by 6x6
Lateral Lunges 3 x 8 x 8
45 reps of each of the following ab workouts
Coffin Crunches
Russians Twists
Oblique Crunches
Reverse Situps
I am exhausted I walked to and from the gym and skipped cardio today so that will wait until tomorrow.
Headed to the east coast again in two weeks and cannot wait.
I will try to update more often but will make no promises.

Out and About
I am headed to Portland again, I cannot get enough of the Rose City, although in this case the trip is more about the company I will be keeping than the city itself =p
Should be a great trip, dinner with one of my favorite couples in the world (Andrew and Becca), the Zoo, a minor league baseball game and whatever else is discovered. I will be sure to take some photos and post them when I get back.
Heading out today at 3pm and going to Everybody's Brewing a new microbrewery which has a solid menu and good beers on tap then got Salmon Fishing at Drano Lake at 5am Friday before hitting Portland Friday afternoon.
If you want to get a hold of me the next several days, I would recommend txting me a message as I am unlikely to respond to any emails etc, in fact I may just leave the computer at home.

Taking care of Business
So I have made no secret that I am really trying to in a sense reinvent my body at the gym. It has been going well, mainly cause I just keep plugging away at it. Tonight I stopped after my workout and took some progress pics. It is still a work in progress but I am happy with the progress I have made.
Other musings, I really am not a fan of talking on the phone, I just don't feel like I communicate as well as I do in person or even via text or email. I have been talking on the phone more than normal for me by a lot lately and I am not complaining, just that it is a big shift in how I do things and as we all know I tend to overanalyze things especially phone calls LOL. Just food for self thought on the phone, I am 10 days away from another visit to Portland and cannot express my level of excitement other to say I have been bouncing off the walls and still am.
Another post of some sort later in the week

A Lack of Posts should not be Equated with a Lack of Events
I have been very busy and battling allergies of late so excuse the lack of posts for the past week or so. Things are most excellent in my life, I have some interesting developments going on in my life that I cannot post at quite this time, but things look promising on many fronts. I will say this I have not been this happy in a long time and it is such a great feeling I am refusing to let things keep me down for more than a day.
More as I have time

This and That
So I have been super busy with work, school, and the gym. I also have really been hit hard by a strange combination of allergies and a bit of a viral chest cold and my energy has been focused on just getting what I need done, done.
One thing I have been doing is meditating, including attending a workshop on it yesterday where I got to spend 3 hours one on one with the instructor just learning different techniques and talking about chakras and other fascinating aspects of eastern philosophies. I have found a great sense of peace with the meditation and it his really helped me clear my mind and to stop thinking tow much about things that are out of my control. Interesting as I find some clarity I have realized that perhaps I have been spending too much time trying to help others or fix them and that is actually something that does not have my needs met at all. Given that I have kind of limit my exposure to those who I would classify as too needy. The results have been interesting, as those people have actually wanted to interact with me more, as I interact with them less. A very interesting and unsurprising result and one that has not bothered me in the least as I focus on the I am instead of things on the peripheral.
I have short-timers right now as I will arrive in Portland Friday for 8 days of march madness, the public library association national conference, and catching up with friends I have not seen as much as I would like. Needless to say I am very pumped, even if I have to figure out how I am going to get all my school work done =p
I have been going to the gym 4-6 days a week. 3 days of weights including chest, arms, back, core, and shoulder work. On those days I do 30-45 minutes of cardio afterwords. I recently got back to benching over 300 again and am focusing on lighter weights with more repetitions. The other days of the week I go and do cardio only and go for 45 minutes. It is really starting to pay off and I feel great and the body is starting to tighten up a bit.
Well that is enough for now, I am still recovering from my night out last night and the couch is beckoning me to watch basketball or perhaps Boston Legal which I recently rediscovered.

So um yeah
SO um yeah
I have been way too busy lately to post a lot with work, school, the gym and taking care of some other things. This past weekend I had a couple of friends in town to help get the sammy back up and running
I have attached some photos of the weekend.
I am only 9 days until Portland and a long escape from Pullman!
Very excited

Update
I am at a bar doing homework (clearly) and I am drinking booze for the first time since roughly New Years and it is delicious (the two pbrs in Seattle a couple weekends ago totaly don't count). Since New Years I have lost 36.7 lbs and am feeling good. Life is good I am really looking forward to going to Portland in a couple weeks for a conference and some much needed escapism. I am looking forward to seeing friends and also people in the library field I have not seen in a long time. If people want to hang out let me know.
That is all for now I need to get back to bantering at the bar, a pastime I have truly missed of late =p

Blah...
Been running around like a chicken with its head cut off lately. Lots of work, lots of school, lots of gym, and lots of all that random stuff that just seems to come up.
I did get to go to Seattle last weekend and enjoy a few days in the city, which was a welcome break. I got to hang with good peoples, help my friends the Staxx Brothers with their first music video, I have a cameo in it =p and in general relax.
Life is good despite all the hustle.

Catching up
Been AWOL for a few days on the old blog, but I am back
Been way too much going on where to start with I have no idea. I am busy taking care of all the stuff I can control which is work, school, and what I do with all my free time (not). Hurt my left hip Friday so took it easy and only went to the gym Saturday and Monday, before starting back up with the daily visits today. I went to Costco yesterday and sweat I cannot get out of that place without spending at least $150. Seriously I could go in their for contact solution and somehow spend 200 bucks without flinching.
Already hit the gym today and have to hit the dentist, the auto parts store (Sammy isn't running and need to replace a wiper arm on my pontiac), to get an oil change, haircut, work, then school and Lost if I can stay awake until 10pm which is 50/50 at best.
Breakfast
Pumpkin and Flax cereal with a banana and almond milk
Lunch bed of spinach, leftover rice and beans and vegtables mixed in with cashews and mustard
Snack sipped on some superfood
Dinner
Threw the leftover brown rice, beans and vegtables into organic tomato soup added a bit of irish cheese and had it with a small spinach salad and two pieces of flax seed bread
Also managed with the help of some of my lady friends to go order a bunch of new clothes as it was time for a wardrobe makeover
Now I have to clean out that damn closet full of old clothing =p
Doing laundry and watching Lost

The Difference between Real and Reality
Skipped breakfast cause I overslept
Lunch was veggie fajitas as I went out with coworkers
Hit the gym it was a lifting day but I delayed that until tomorrow morning and just sweated the day out with 45 minutes of cardio
Dinner is dried fruit from trader joes and pumpkin and flax seed cereal with almond milk and a banana
The post title refers to the clarity I came to today after some pushing from those in the inner circle
Yall know who you are and I thank you
